We're approximately 250 metres from Tāhunanui Beach, making it easy to head down for a morning walk, swim, sunset or day at the beach.

Is parking available?

Yes. We offer complimentary on-site parking for guests. We also have parking suitable for larger vehicles and group transport, subject to availability.

Do you have accessible or ground-floor rooms?

Yes. We have accessible and ground-floor accommodation available. If you have mobility requirements or specific room needs, please let us know when booking so we can help find the most suitable option.

Are pets allowed?

We don't allow pets, with the exception of recognised assistance or guide dogs.

Standard check-in is from 2:00pm.

What time is check-out?

Check-out is by 10:00am.

Can I check in early?

Early check-in is available by arrangement and subject to availability, at no additional charge. If your room isn't ready when you arrive, we're happy to store your luggage.

Can I have a late check-out?

Late check-out may be available by arrangement and subject to availability, at no additional charge. Please speak with our reception team.

Can I check in after reception has closed?

Yes. We can arrange after-hours check-in for guests arriving outside normal reception hours. Please contact us before arrival so we can provide the instructions you need.

What do I need to check in?

The registered guest must be 18 or older and will need to provide photo ID. A valid credit card is also required to secure the booking and may be required at check-in.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept EFTPOS and major credit cards. No cash.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellation terms depend on the rate and booking type.

For direct bookings, changes or cancellations made before the day of arrival generally incur no cancellation fee, unless a non-refundable rate has been booked. Cancellations on the day of arrival may incur a charge equivalent to the first night's accommodation, and no-shows may also be charged the first night.

Bookings made through Booking.com, Expedia or another OTA must generally be changed or cancelled through the original booking provider.

Is it better to book direct?

Yes. Booking directly with The Beachcomber gives you the opportunity to speak with our local team about your room requirements, changes, special requests and specific needs. We also offer direct-booking promotions and our Frequent Stayer Program for eligible guests.

Do you offer breakfast?

Yes. We offer a daily continental breakfast.

Buffet breakfast is served in our dining room from 7:30am to 9:30am. Please be advised that during the quieter winter season, continental breakfasts are offered as room service, to be enjoyed in the warmth and comfort of your room.

Do you have a swimming pool?

Yes. We have an outdoor swimming pool, which is heated during summer and cooler during winter.

Yes. Guests have access to outdoor BBQ areas, subject to availability.

We don't have a full-service restaurant onsite, but there are several cafés, restaurants, bars and takeaway options within easy walking distance. Our team is happy to recommend somewhere based on what you're looking for.

Do you accommodate families?

Yes. We offer family-friendly accommodation, including Family Units that combine two adjoining studio units and can accommodate up to five guests depending on the bedding configuration.

Do you accommodate sports teams?

Yes. Sports teams are one of our specialties. We're located close to Tāhunanui sports fields and offer a range of room configurations, group facilities, parking and guest laundry facilities.

Do you accommodate school and tour groups?

Yes. We regularly accommodate sports teams, schools, tour groups, corporate groups and special-interest groups. Our team can work with organisers to create a package around the group's requirements.

Do you have a meeting or conference room?

Yes. Our Tasman Room is available for meetings, conferences, training sessions and group use, subject to availability.

Can you cater for groups?

Yes. We can arrange breakfast and group catering options, depending on the size and requirements of your group. For larger groups, advance planning is required.

Do you have parking for buses or trailers?

Yes. We have onsite parking options for cars, trailers, minibuses and tour buses, subject to availability.

Can you store luggage?
